Want some peace and quite? Mesa Falls is just 1 hour north of Rexburg. It provides a terrific outdoor activity where you can really enjoy nature without disturbance. You can also get a great work out on the trails provided.
Directions:
The Mesa Falls Scenic Byway begins where the Teton Scenic Byway reaches its northern end in Ashton, at the junction of U.S. 20 and Idaho 47. From there, the route travels through the town of Warm River toward its main attractions: the Upper and Lower Mesa Falls.

How far is it from the highest point to park to the falls?

When you go to the highest point, the parking lot is (if I had to guess) no more than 1/4 mile away from the Falls. The trail leading there is mostly paved or built with wood.
