Description:
Egin Lakes is not really a place to swim because the water is too shallow, but it is a FUN place for youth groups or family outings. The water is at the base of the St. Anthony Sand Dunes. The lake is a lot larger in late Spring to Early Summer. There are lots of small marine animals in the lake like frogs etc.
If you have an ATV you won’t have to walk from the parking lot, but the walk isn’t really that bad.
Facilities are presently limited to a gravel access road, a large day use vehicle/trailer parking area, an unloading ramp and restrooms. There are 68 first-come first-serve dry camp sites. Capacity is exceeded on most weekends.
Directions:
Take the North Rexburg exit off US Highway 20. If northbound turn left, if southbound turn right onto 1900 E.(Parker-Salem Highway and the Red Road). Travel 6.3 miles north to the second flashing light. Turn left and travel .85 miles to the split in the road. Travel right over the railroad tracks and continue on 500 N. for 2.9 miles. At the Egin Lakes access sign, turn right onto the gravel road.
